Missing parcels
Alexander Zemlinsky to Arnold Schönberg
December 1917
The Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.
Now a question about Christmas, or rather a suggestion. We have been told that parcels are going missing in the post, or being stolen. The birthday gift for Görgi was lost in this way. Or should we risk it! Don’t you agree that we should stop sending gifts to each other’s children? And rather buy them more instead? It would essentially be the same and they would be sure to receive it. Please send me your reply without delay.
